Rome Ciampino Airport - Location & Transport

Rome Ciampino airport is located 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Rome; travel time to the city centre takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. With only three terminals, Ciampino airport is the smaller of the city's two airports; Leonardo Da Vinci, also known as Fiumicino, is the larger.

Rome Ciampino airport acts as the main hub for budget airlines flying from the UK. Also known as Giovan Battista Pastine airport, Ciampino airport reserves two terminals for commercial and private passenger flights; the third handles cargo flights and transfers.

Public Transport from links from Ciampino

A bus company named Cotral runs a bus every half hour from the airport to the Anagnina Metro stop, where visitors catch Metro Linea A to Stazione Termini. A one way fare costs €1. Alternatively, visitors can take the bus to Ciampino train station and take a train to Termini.

Easyjet and Ryanair offer Terravision Express Shuttle rides to the city centre. A single fare costs €8.

To take a taxi from Ciampino airport to Stazione Termini will cost at least €35, with higher fares at night and on Sundays and holidays.

Shuttles and charter companies are available to take you from the airport directly to your hotel. Airport-Shuttle Rome offers a limo service for four people (€42 total) and a mini van service for up to nine people (€68 total). Book online or go to Shuttle Direct.

Airport Amenities

Information : Ciampino has four information points. The first is located next to the ticket office in the Departures area and is open from 7 AM to 11:30 PM. The second is only accessible to passengers in the Arrivals hall and is open according to flight times. The third is located in the General Aviation terminal in the ADR Flight Operations Office, open from 7 AM to 11:30 PM. The fourth information point is in the Cargo Air Terminal, open from 7 AM to 11:30 PM.

Food and drink: A few newsagents and convenience shops offer candy, bottled beverages and medicine along with quick snacks.

Left luggage: There are no left luggage services in Rome Ciampino airport.

Money: Cash and exchange points are located throughout the airport and are open from 6 AM to midnight.

Car hire: A number of international car hire companies such as Avis, Europcar and Hertz offer their services along with a few smaller European names. Their offices are located in the Arrivals Hall.

Shopping: Rome Ciampino airport hosts a number of stores that provide everything from perfume and clothing to liqueur and Italian food products. Duty free shopping is available for those passengers travelling directly to non EU member countries.
