Certain holiday weekends drive prices into the stratosphere so beware of bank holidays in March and May and the week between Christmas and New Year's.
On the other hand, some terrific deals can be found during the less expensive low season which runs from the beginning of January to mid-March, and again from the beginning of November to the end of December.
