Marrakech's status the hippest destination in North Africa means that the imperial city is well served with international flights. However, finding a cheap flight is a different matter.

Royal Air Maroc (http://www.royalairmaroc.com/eng/) operates daily flights to Marrakech from Heathrow, which make the journey in three and a half hours (return fares start at £250). As Casablanca is the country's aviation hub, most Marrakech flights make a pit stop here (rather than requiring a change of aircraft), pushing the journey time up to five hours. British Airways offers similar routing for marginally higher fares.
If you're looking for cheap flights to Marrakech, and are flexible in your travel plans, then Atlas Blue (http://www.atlas-blue.com/en/) is your best bet. An online subsidiary of RAM, Atlas Blue flies form Gatwick to Marrakech four times a week; fares are low and you shouldn't have any trouble booking a return seat for £200 (occasionally as little as € 60 + tax each way). All aircraft are sparklingly new and arguably represent one of the most comfortable ways to reach Marrakech.
Other budget options include making it to Paris and picking up a cheap Air France ticket to Marrakech, or flying to Casablanca and then continuing by train to Marrakech (three hours, 80 Dirham).
From Marrakech airport it's a six kilometre taxi ride to the city centre. Leaving the arrivals hall you'll be accosted by taxi drivers; head left for grand taxis (fares are posted on a placard) or right for petit taxis. If you decide on the latter, make sure that you establish the fare before setting off. If you can get the driver to use the meter, you're doing well; otherwise expect to pay between 60-80 Dirhams.
It's worth noting that Djemma El Fna is closed to traffic (unless four-legged) and you may find yourself unceremoniously dumped on the outskirts of the square, clueless as to how to find your accommodation. Either head for a phone booth (and ask a hotel employee to meet you), or get one of the local baggage cart 'drivers' to do the work for you.
If you are flying return from Marrakesh's Menara Airport ; it's a good idea to reconfirm your flight, especially if you are travelling with RAM or making a connection in Casablanca.
