This means that while the owner has a home resort, points are used as a currency to determine the type of accommodation, size, season and length of the vacation allowed. A set number of points is allocated at the beginning of each year and can be used at the home resort or any other Disney resort. Points can also be spent on any of over 350 locations around the world through the Member Getaway program. Vacations available through this program include tours through rainforests, biking expeditions, African safaris or Caribbean cruises.
Disney timeshare owners have access to a number of resort benefits such as Extra Magic Hours, Magical Express service and other transport benefits. Extra Magic Hours entitles resort guests to stay in the theme parks for three extra hours after closing time. Magical Express offers guests exclusive transport from the airport to their hotel in a themed coach while luggage is transported directly from the plane to the room. Other transport benefits include transport around the resort on coaches, water taxis and monorail.
Points can be saved or borrowed and used on larger condos, longer vacation periods or higher demand resorts. This makes it possible for an owner to acquire a bigger condo to accommodate a larger group of people, as with family reunions or invited friends. Villa sizes on offer range from one to three-bedroom condos with separate living areas, kitchenettes, TVs and appliances. Prices for Disney timeshare start at around $14,250 for off-season weeks.
