Golf in Bangkok Thailand

Thailand has many professional golf courses: some of them are international standard. Many were designed by well-known professional golfers. Tourist destinations such as Phuket, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Bangkok have golf courses nearby. Golf clubs and caddies can be hired for the day at most golf courses. Thailand is a popular holiday destination due to its beaches, beautiful scenery and culture.

Thailand golf packages are available which range from daily access to a golf course for a week (or the duration of your stay) to golf tours round Thailand visiting a few golf courses in areas of interest. Packages can include the services of a caddy, green fees, meals, transport and accommodation. There maybe additional charges for weekends or single golfers. Tours can include a combination of golf and sight-seeing. The longer packages give more time for visiting local tourist attractions and experiencing Thailand's culture. Provision for non-golfers can be made. Some tours include the services of a golf professional to accompany you on the course.

Some of the golf courses are positioned in stunning scenery. The most popular golf destination in the north is probably Chiang Mai, Thailand's northern capital. There are several golf courses in the region of Chiang Mai and the city itself is an interesting and pleasant place to stay with plenty to do for non-golfers. The beach resorts of Phuket, Hua Hin and Pattaya have golf courses nearby. Hua Hin's oldest golf course is the Royal Hua Hin Golf Club next to the train station and now there are more courses of international standard in the Hua Hin area. Phuket has four courses which are open to the public. There are seventeen golf courses in the vicinity of Pattaya with golf tours arranged by local tour operators who can sort out transport. Other interesting places to visit with golf courses nearby are the River Kwai and Khao Yai, Thailand's oldest and best-known National Park, used in the filming of 'The Beach'.

Other activities in Thailand include: traditional Thai massage, scuba diving, visiting hill tribes, experiencing Thai food and culture. Non-golfers should find plenty to do. Meditation, cookery and massage courses are taught in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Excursions can be easily arranged to go kayaking, trekking or snorkelling. The Thais are very friendly and pleasant. Thailand is marketed as the 'land of smiles' and this is one of the reasons it is such a popular destination for tourists.
