Benalmadena offers a wide range of holiday accommodation as befits its status as one of the Costa del Sol's leading tourist destinations. You can spoil yourself in lap of luxury five-star accommodation or go native in a typically Spanish hostal. There are sumptuous private villas to rent and masses of affordable self-catering apartments.
Probably the best-known hotel in the area is the Hotel Torrequebrada (Book Now)on the outskirts of town. If you've got money to burn it's a great place to act out those James Bond style fantasies in a beautiful environment with top class facilities and one of Europe's biggest casinos.
The 350-room, five-star hotel overlooks the sea and the world class Torrequebrada golf course. Its restaurants serve innovative Mediterranean cuisine and every whim of its guests is catered for with superb sports facilities, a sophisticated nightclub, health club, beach club.. There's a glazed, indoor heated pool with lovely views of the hotel's sub-tropical gardens and the Mediterranean.
But enough of all this nonsense! Let's face it, this is not where your average holidaymaker lays down his head for the night in Benalmadena. The majority of tourists head for the middle-market hotels and apartment complexes which are geared to the package holiday market.
Hotels, Apartment Accommodation and "Aparthotels"
It's important to remember the old cliché that you get what you pay for. You can book an apartment or hotel room here at an exceptionally cheap rate.but then be prepared to expect only basic facilities.
Most hotels and apartment accommodation are to be found on or near the beachfront of Benalmadena Costa. The better ones offer good on-site sports and leisure facilities and a full entertainment programme of day and evening activities for children and adults.
Some holiday complexes have a wealth of activities such as rifle shooting, water polo and kids' clubs by day and bingo, flamenco and cabaret shows by night. Check in advance with your tour operator to see exactly what level of entertainment will be provided at your chosen hotel or apartment block.
Benalmadena has several "aparthotels" where you can combine the freedom of self-catering accommodation with the convenience of on-site hotel facilities. Many have large swimming pools, health and fitness suites, bars and restaurants for the exclusive use of those staying in the apartments.
If you're on a budget and you don't fancy a cheap package holiday hotel, try one of the local "hostals" where you'll get clean and comfortable accommodation in a very Spanish environment.
The better hostals have en-suite facilities and their own restaurants serving excellent home-cooked local dishes.
Try Casa Rosa in Benalmadena Pueblo where you'll be able to savour the special delights of "going native" whilst at the same time enjoying the comfort of your own bathroom, TV, minibar and air conditioning.
