Ski chalets are becoming the choice of more and more people as skiers realise just what good value for money they offer. Ski chalets come either catered or self-catered, and are a great choice of accommodation for holidays on the slopes, particularly in France. As well as providing food, chalet hosts also fully clean up after you and even offer a washing service if it is required. Another great thing about ski chalets is that they are incredibly social, whether you have booked a whole chalet for the family or several rooms between yourself and other couples or friends. Be sure to tap into the knowledge of your chalet host. They are a great source of local knowledge whether you want to know about the best bars, secret runs or the weather forecast! They may even come out skiing with you if you ask them nicely!
Some chalets are designated as family ski chalets only. They offer child care through English speaking nannies either in the chalet (normally only large chalets) or very nearby. Chalets designated for families are great for parents who want minimum hassle and total peace of mind during their ski holiday.
