Luckily, Orlando weather is pretty predictable making it easy for you to decide what time of year to travel. Temperatures in Orlando Florida are pleasant all year round but the possibility of precipitation and the humidity levels can make a big difference to your experience.
The weather in central Florida is hottest from June to September when temperatures hover between 75 and 90 degrees. August is the hottest and most humid month, with temperatures of between 77 and 90 degrees and humidity levels of up to 90%. These high humidity levels can make the weather unbearable and can be exhausting for young children. So check the forecast before you go out and don't plan to do too much if the reports predict high temperatures and humidity.
Choosing a time to visit Orlando
The summer is also the wettest time of year and June is the wettest month with an average of over nine inches of rain. With the warm temperatures and high humidity thunderstorms are also a common feature of Orlando weather - especially during the summer months.
The rain is like clockwork, and by mid afternoon the humidity has hit its peak and the heavy black thunderclouds have rolled in darkening the sky and depositing a short but intense downpour of fat raindrops that sends the endless lines of people running for cover. Despite the worst weather reports, the rain doesn't last long and can be a quite refreshing break from the heat and humidity.
The summer months are also peak season in Orlando and that means the crowds are at their worst and the lines their longest. So it may be a good idea to avoid visiting during the summer season at all. Other times to try and avoid, purely because of the huge number of visitors, include Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, and all school holidays.
In the winter months Orlando weather is cooler and drier but never cold, and the crowds are much smaller, making it a pleasant time to visit. Attractions are quietest from October to Easter and get busier from Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) through Labour Day (the first Monday in September). If you're planning a winter holiday check the forecast for a few weeks in advance and you'll know enough to pack appropriately.
Taking all this into account, the best times to visit are from January to early March, in May and from September to mid-November. Orlando weather is pretty good at these times of the year with temperatures of between 78 and 84 degrees and limited rainfall. Crowds are also small so you get the best possible compromise on all fronts.
