Orlando's Resorts - Disney and Universal
Accommodation > Resorts - More in this Category > Top Hotels > Budget Hotels > Apartments > Vacation Rentals > VillasDripping with style and soaked in the best imaginations available, Orlando's resorts carry on the fantasy world of the magical, surreal theme parks. Whether you want to see exotic animals prowling below your balcony window as you pull back the curtains, immerse yourself in five-star luxury at a wilderness lodge or live it up as a rock star for a few days, Orlando resorts can indulge your wildest dreams.
The big players: Disney and Universal
Disney Florida tops the Orlando's resorts bill with its range of 21 fantasy resorts where you can opt for varying levels of style and price from deluxe accommodation at the Polynesian Resort, Yacht and Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge or the Animal Kingdom down to value choices such as the All Stars Resort and Pop Century. All the Disney resort hotels have impeccable service and attention to detail, plenty of facilities and of course a theme. From south seas tropical islands to private game lodges and giant icons of American history, the Disney Orlando resorts are hard to beat for sheer imagination and ostentation.
At Universal three resorts vie for attention but the highlight is Portofino Bay, a faithful reproduction of an Italian waterside community where the facilities are top class and the visual effects stunning. If you'd prefer some Polynesian pampering Universal's Royal Pacific Resort has a 1930's South Seas theme with an orchid garden, bamboo bridges and sumptuous colonial-style rooms. For something more edgy the Hard Rock Hotel offers a stay in a hotel themed as a rock star's home. Rock 'n' roll memorabilia, marble floors, eclectic artwork and live bands make it the choice for young party-starting visitors.
Outside the main theme parks Orlando Florida's resorts are no less lavish. The Doubletree Castle is themed as a medieval castle complete with mini turrets and décor on a palatial scale. The Westin Grand Bohemian aims for high-class luxury with its own fine art gallery, rich fabrics and sultry color scheme, while the marble-coated Peabody Hotel has cascading waterfalls, exotic palms and sumptuous rooms.
Expect to pay highly for the privilege of being so close to all attractions and for the 24-hour fantasy experience. Rooms at the top resorts range from $200 to $2000 a night.
