The Lodge has been designed to transport its guests and visitors back to the days when the rugged paniolo used to roam the lands on horseback. A lounge area with an old-style two storey fire place, a library full of old books from the early end of the last century, charming wooden beams and even the odd pair of well worn boots, all add to creating that authentic ranch house feel.
The rooms in this "home-on-the-range" fall into two price brackets: deluxe and luxury, with luxury being the more expensive of the two. The luxury units are a lot roomier and have those little extra touches like the alcoved king-size beds and the quaint little skylights. Regardless of which room you choose you will encounter the same country type décor that characterizes the main areas of the resort. All the rooms also come with all the modern conveniences that you would expect of an up market resort - cable TV, coffee maker, iron, wet bar, private balcony and dataport. The resort also has a spa, fitness centre and outdoor heated pool.
Ideally the Sheraton Molokai Lodge is more suited to those who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. Guests have a choice of embarking on a couple of horse trails, embellishing in a bit of mountain biking or taking the resort shuttle down to the beach for a spot of sailing or ocean kayaking.
When it comes to eating out and The Lodge's dinning facilities, guests can make their way down to the Maunaloa Room and the Paniolo Lounge. The Maunaloa Room serves breakfast and dinner, while light lunches and sun-downer cocktails are available from the Paniolo Lounge. Top class dinning facilities, combined with all the above mentioned amenities, means that guests will be looking at paying prices that are on par with some of Maui's resorts.
Beach Villas
The Ranch's Beach Villas compliment the already prestigious Lodge. The villas can be found facing the sandy white beach of Kaupoa Beach. What draws many people to this palm tree and hammock dotted paradise are the forty or so "tentalows" that line the beach. Each has two bedrooms complete with lounge seating, step outside and you not only walk right on to the sand but you also come face to face with your complimentary deck chairs and picnic area. This is beach life to the max with even the bathrooms sporting an open air design!
Checking in is done at the hostess desk and from here guests can also book out snorkel gear, boogie boards, croquet and volleyball equipment. Meal times are very casual and relaxed and served in the open air at the Kaupoa Dining Pavilion.
