Puerto Vallarta's Hotels - All Inclusive Accommodation
Puerto Vallarta hotels range from all-inclusive resorts to places offering simple no-frills accommodation. The all-inclusive resorts tend to be dotted along the beach. Use of the beach is always included in the price, and you often get watersports included too. Prices for all-inclusive Puerto Vallarta hotels range between $80 and $200 per person per night. Meals and drinks are almost always included in the price, and you should also expect good amenities, such as a golf course or swimming pool. Most all-inclusive resorts also throw in some nightly entertainment, such as cabaret or theme parties.
Playa Los Arcos in Olas Altas offers very good value compared to beachfront Puerto Vallarta hotels. There are off-peak promotional deals where you can get a room for around $70 per person per night. (These deals usually mean that you have to book for a minimum of five nights.) The room you get for that money is basic - usually just a queen-size bed - but you get to eat in a choice of the hotel's three restaurants and enjoy a daily activities program. The hotel is set on the beach and also has two connecting pools, one with a waterfall.
More affordable Puerto Vallarta hotels tend to be south of the Rio Cuale. For example, the Azteca Hotel is a clean but simply furnished two-star hotel on the Madero. The cost of a single room is only about $16 per person per night, while a double is around $20. You can also get a larger room for one or two people for around $27, and for that price you'll also get a balcony, kitchenette and TV. If you're travelling with several friends, the Estancia San Carlos hotel includes apartment suites with kitchens. These apartments sleep six and cost around $84 per person per night. Rooms are spacious, and you get use of a swimming pool.
However, even the "expensive" Puerto Vallarta hotels aren't always expensive. Prices vary hugely depending on the season and on what promotions the hotel is running. Some off-peak room rates are half what a hotel would charge during peak season. See our page on weather for more information about when to go.
