Cancun's Moon Palace Resort
The Moon Palace in Cancun is just south of the Island itself and is situated only a few minutes drive from the international airport. The resort spans across 123 acres with just over 2000 rooms divided between 16 three-storey buildings. These are further divided into the North and South sections, each with their own restaurants, fitness centre and pools. The many impressive features available come at a price but for a romantic honeymoon or a family holiday to remember, it would certainly be worth it.
The resort features some of the largest lagoon-style pools in Latin America which include swim-up bars and separate sections for children. Thatched palapas (shelters) line the pool areas and the large expanse of beach, which also has an impressive reef just offshore. The hotel boasts some striking facilities including a spa, two fitness centres, saunas, steam rooms, ten restaurants, a business centre and an 18 hole Jack Nicklaus golf course. There is also a kid's club in the south section that offers supervised activities for children aged 4-10.
A number of activities are available either at the resort or nearby and these include golf, basketball, tennis, surfing, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, wind surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and bicycle rental.
Room amenities include cable TV, air conditioning, Internet access, hairdryer, a coffee maker, a safe, an iron and a balcony. For a romantic holiday, couples can book rooms with a double jet tub, double shower and a hammock on the balcony. Cribs are also available but need to be booked with the room.
All guests are permitted to use facilities and restaurants at the other five Palace hotels in the area; the closest are the Cancun Palace and the Beach Palace. All-inclusive packages permit the same free activities, food and drinks for guests at each hotel.
