The star of Maui's Napili Bay is the beach, which cuts right into the shoreline and protects sunbathers and beachcombers alike from the afternoon winds. The steeper gradient of the sand means that the waves that lap the shore leave it very quickly - the result during high surf is an undertow. So what is this bizarre sounding activity? Basically you lie in the water at the surfs edge and wait for the force of the water to shoot you up the shore on a thin film of water and then take you back. It takes some mastering, but lookout for the pros and maybe they could give you a few pointers.
