Although lacking in character and charm, the Santa Maria is comfortable, modern and clean, perfect for the package holidaymaker. Located a mere 500 meters from the sea front in Bugibba, The Santa Maria Hotel has easy access to all the resorts attractions including shops, restaurants and the large sandy beach.
A stay at the Santa Maria Hotel can either be in traditional hotel rooms, or in one of the apartments that surround the pool. Facing the Santa Maria Hotel is the San Anton Complex and the two share the same facilities, which means they can get pretty packed. The hotel is bright and spacious, with a good standard of comfort. It has 251 rooms, each of which sleep 2-3 people, and all have a shower and balcony. The Chapels Restaurant serves meals throughout the day, of which breakfast is always included in the price, and there is also a poolside snack bar.
The Santa Maria has got everything you'd need and expect from a hotel in a busy resort. The indoor, outdoor and children's pool, and the games room will ensure there are no bored moments. The airport shuttle service, concierge and security look after you from the moment of your arrival, and the babysitting service means adults can get out and enjoy the entertainments the resort has to offer.
Bugibba is a great place to base yourself and still have access to the rest of the island as the resort is on the main bus route around Malta. After only a 35 minutes bus ride you can be in the heart of Malta's capital Valletta, exploring the history held within its narrow streets behind the great ramparts. Mdina is a 45-minute journey inland, and a real must-see of any visit to Malta. Take the bus north and you'll reach Cirkewwa from where the ferry leaves for Gozo and Comino. Staying in Bugibba does not limit you to a 'Brits Abroad' style holiday, as it's so easy to escape from.
