At only 150 yards away from Qawra beach, this is the perfect location for an action packed, bar filled package holiday. The whole resort is aimed primarily at the Brit abroad and The Palm Court Hotel is clearly geared towards this market.
A towering 350 room building, the Palm Court Hotel is not the most picturesque structure, but the tourists wanting to stay along that stretch of coast are generally more concerned with the leisure activities and nightlife on offer than the atmosphere of their accommodation. Aesthetically pleasing The Palm Court Hotel may not be, but it does provide their guests with all the facilities you'd expect from a beachfront resort hotel. Each room has its own balcony and en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, radio and phone. The hotel itself clearly knows its clientele with a 24hr foreign exchange service and four bars. Most visitors staying in the hotel have booked through arranged package tours and are staying there half board. In the height of the busy season, the hotel can cater for 1200 people for breakfast and dinner, more than any other hotel in Malta.
The Palm Court Hotel is roughly the equivalent of a 2* hotel in the UK so don't go there expecting luxury. There is no maid service but if you want or need your sheets and towels changing, clean ones can be picked up from reception and the rooms are checked daily by housekeeping staff. You're likely to see some peeling paint and dated, worn furniture in pretty basic rooms but for that's to be expected from the amount you're paying.
It's worth noting that The Palm Court Hotel has been through some tough criticism from past clients. Some people claim the food is terrible, the rooms smelly and damp and the pool untouchable; others however actively denounce these claims, saying that what was alleged a 'hellhole' was in fact quite a bargain and lots of the claims seemed unjustified. One Judge researching a compensation claim by a number of families who had stayed in the hotel was 'mystified' by complaints that the toast was cold when he discovered that breakfast was buffet style and in fact the guests made the toast themselves.Tel: 21 572 484/6
