One of the joys of staying at the Palma Nova Palace is that there is so much available within easy walking distance. It is just 200 metres to the beach, 600 metres to the centre of Palma Nova, and the bus stop for services to Palma, the island capital, is 300 metres away.
The atmosphere is less frenetic than in some hotels because children under the age of 13 are not allowed. And although there are some entertainments for teenagers, it generally attracts an older clientele.
There are 185 rooms at the hotel, eight of which are suitable for handicapped guests. Approximately one third of the rooms have sea views and another third have garden views. All have air-conditioning, fridges, hairdryers, telephones and televisions. They are cleaned daily, with towels changed daily and sheets twice a week.
The Palma Nova Palace has two air-conditioned restaurants. The larger has seating for 260 at an international buffet and is where guests on all-inclusive or half-board packages will eat. There is also a smaller eatery, the Green Restaurant, which seats 70, and this has an à la carte menu.
There is a full roster of events for hotel guests with shows put together every evening by the entertainments team. There are some pillars in the entertainments lounge and you may need to arrive early to guarantee an unobstructed view. During the day the Palma Nova Palace offers activities which differ from the stereotype of volleyball matches and lilo races, such as cooking demonstrations and language classes.
When you have finished lounging by the two pools, you can play billiards, table tennis, darts and petanque in the hotel. Or, thanks to the central location, it is but a short step to water sports of every description, tennis, squash, riding and golf. If that all sounds too strenuous, there is a mini golf course next door. And should you want to get away from Palma Nova the hotel can arrange car and bike rental.
