Hawaii Hotel Palma Nova Majorca - Mallorca Travel
The three-star Hawaii Hotel Palma Nova (www.intertur.es) is set on a steep hill on the Torrenova headland on the edge of Palma Nova. It has fantastic views out across the bay which fronts this south-west Majorcan resort, ample reward for the stiff walk up the hill to reception. (Although those in the know take the lift from the lower ground floor by the pool.)
Owned by the small Majorca-based Intertur chain, the hotel has 230 rooms, 200 of which face the sea, and all of which have bathroom, terrace, air-conditioning and a safe. There is a hairdresser on site, plus the more usual complement of TV lounge, bar and buffet restaurant.
The hotel has direct access to the sea, with the beach just 50 metres away. There's also, of course, a swimming pool, although you may need to get up rather early to reserve one of the free sunbeds.
Children are extremely welcome at the hotel and facilities include a dedicated swimming pool, mini-disco and child-oriented entertainments. The in-house entertainments team at the Hawaii Hotel Palma Nova arranges activities day and night. There are games and sports during the day, such as archery and waterpolo, and shows in the evening. These may not all be to all guests' liking, but you cannot please everybody.
Table tennis, billiards and volleyball are all available at the Hawaii Hotel Palma Nova, and the hotel's location means that there's a huge array of other sports with easy reach, such as tennis, golf, water skiing, windsurfing and diving.
The hotel is situated right between Palma Nova and Magaluf - a 15-minute walk to each - and so is well placed for evening entertainment out on the town. Yet it also manages to avoid being too noisy - there's no huge karaoke just opposite, and the stag and hen parties tend to stay more centrally than this.
There are various ways to arrange a stay at the Hawaii Hotel Palma Nova, and you can either approach the hotel directly or use a tour operator. There are B&B, half-board and full-board options available.
Prices change during the year, virtually month by month, and the nightly, half-board charge for a twin room ranges from around £40 to £70. For more details and reservations go to www.intertur.es or phone +34 971 68 11 50.
