Shows in Las Vegas - More Great Venues
Shows - More in this category > Schedules > Up to Date Guides > Popular Venues > More Venues > Recommended ShowsIn the beginning Las Vegas was all about gambling. If you weren’t interested in visiting the casinos there was little point in travelling deep into the Nevada desert. As competition between hotels stiffened, they began to produce shows in the hope you would go in for the show and stay for the gambling, however the shows took on a life of their own. They are no longer a younger sibling to the casinos, but rather their partner in offering an all round amazing experience for visitors to Las Vegas. Nowadays, the hotels rent out the enormous spaces to production companies willing to take on the risk of producing such expensive and extravagant shows.

Folies Bergere is synonymous with the Tropicana. Like the Tropicana, it is targeted towards an adult audience and has been progressive by constantly updating. Here you will witness the evolution of woman from the 1850’s through to modern day with all the extravagant feathers and sequins you would expect of a Las Vegas show – this does not disappoint. The Tropicana, as one of the first on the block, is luxurious and charming. Also currently showing the Magic of Rick Thomas in the Tiffany theatre, a family daytime magic show using white tigers and plenty of humour.

The world-renowned Mystere is currently showing at Treasure Island. As one of many of Cirque du Soliel’s imaginative masterpieces, they use colour and movement in this Chinese pole act. Treasure Island, which has been recently revamped as Ti, also has Sirens of Ti, a free exotic show running every evening in line with their new grownup image.
Next door at the larger Mirage, which has really set the tone other hotels should follow, you can see Danny Gans. As the home of Jay Leno, The Mirage has plenty more on offer, including an erupting volcano, Siegried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, and their White tiger enclosure. There is sure to be something that takes your interest.
In the middle of the strip you will find Aladdin Resort.
