They will send you information on any legal details and also point you in the direction of a local who can dispense the marriage license. The cost of the license is not prohibitive - about the same as a night's stay one of Kauai's motels. Same-sex couples cannot obtain marriage licenses in Hawaii after a ruling in 1999 by the Supreme Court. If you decide to plan your wedding yourself without the assistance of a wedding planner then the agent can advise you on where to go to get married.

Many of the resorts offer extensive wedding services ranging from simply providing a location for the ceremony and letting you arrange your own event, to organizing the entire event down to the flowers and the cake.
Princeville Hotel is incredibly plush with access to extensive facilities including one of Kauai's top golf courses. They have wedding coordinators and a grand ballroom which is ideal for receptions. The Radisson Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue provides wedding services to engaged couples and also has honeymoon accommodation. Unfortunately the beach is not safe for swimming but the Radisson provides access to pools, tennis courts, a spa and a fitness centre with a great range of treatments, sauna and gym equipment.
