Take a weekend breaks in Ibiza
Ibiza Holidays - More in this category > Ibiza Bargain Holidays > Ibiza Cheap Holidays > Club 18 to 30 Ibiza > Ibiza Late Deals > Ibiza Last Minute Vacations > Ibiza Short Breaks > Weekend Breaks > Ibiza VacationsDepending on whether you want to spend your weekend break in Ibiza chilling out on the beach or seeing as much as possible, some advance planning will help you make the most of your short trip.
Although all of the major resorts are easily accessible from the airport, you can save valuable transfer time by booking into a hotel in the south-east of the island, near the airport. This includes Ibiza Town (beautiful, cultural and a lot of fun), Platja d'en Bossa (great beach bars and clubs), Jesus (quiet and traditional), and Talamanca, Figueretes and Salines (all good beaches within easy reach of the town).
If you decide not to hire a car, you may find it less stressful to choose a resort or town and then plan your weekend around it. If staying in Ibiza Town, for instance, you can go to the local beaches during the day, wander around Dalt Vila or Marina Botafoc in the early evening, dine outside one of the many harbourside restaurants, and then party at Pacha or El Divino. On Sunday, take a day trip to Formentera by boat, and relax on its lengthy white shores.
If staying in San Antonio, your cultural options are a little more limited, but an absolute must is sunset at Café del Mar on the Sunset Strip, followed by a tour of the island's most outrageous bars. There is a wealth of lovely beaches on the west coast of Ibiza, including Cala Tarida and Cala Conta. Cala d'Hort has the most spectacular view but is not sandy. All of these beaches offer tranquil and stunning sunset views away from the crowds. For something a little different, try a short boat trip up the coast from San Antonio - tourist information is available at the Passeig de ses Fonts port.
Instead of 'wasting a day' by clubbing at night and then needing to recover in bed with the blinds drawn, go to the day club Space instead. Located in Platja d'en Bossa, Space opens at dawn and has a fantastic open-air terrace. Sundays are the largest and most notorious events at Space - ideal for the weekend visitor.
To spend a weekend getting away from it entirely, abandon the crowded beaches and towns and head instead for one of the remoter, family-run resorts. Club Calador at Cala Carbo is one example, with its own pool and unrivalled view over Es Vedra. If this is more your idea of Ibiza heaven, you may find it useful to hire a car, giving you the flexibility to seek out the island's calmest and most isolated spots.
