Late Deals Ibiza - Spanish Holiday Islands Mediterranean

Flexibility is absolutely vital. You can avoid disappointment if you keep your expectations as vague as possible. You are far more likely to find a range of late deals if you're simply hoping to go to a beachside resort in Spain, for instance, than if you expect to come across a three-bedroom villa within walking distance of Ibiza's Salines beach.
With any travel arrangements, make sure you investigate the full range of possibilities, and be prepared to turn down the cheapest offer in favour of something more convenient and comfortable. A stopover in mainland Spain may make the flight cheaper, but it also lengthens your journey and increases your risk of delays and cancellations.
If one particular resort or hotel has numerous rooms available at short notice, try to find out why. Is the location inconvenient? Are the facilities not up to scratch? Does it have a bad reputation or a bad health and safety record? Find out whether there is building work going on nearby, and whether the swimming pool is clean and safe to use. Is the restaurant open and does it offer a decent selection of meals? Don't be fooled by glossy brochure pictures, and certainly think twice about any hotel for which no photographs are available.
With every aspect of your holiday, beware not to confuse 'cheap' with 'bargain'. It is worth paying that little bit extra to guarantee good accommodation and amenities.
Late deals tend not to hang around and you'll need to be able to make a quick decision, but before you pay for anything, run through a checklist of must-have amenities. Look at beaches, restaurants, proximity to clubs and bars and to the island's main towns (Ibiza Town, San Antonio and Santa Eularia). Look at a map of the island and see whether you'll have a long transfer from the airport. Ask about parking facilities if you intend to hire a car in Ibiza.
If you are going to be self-catering in a villa or an apartment, investigate how far it is to the nearest supermarket or grocery. You may well need to hire a car if you are self-catering, so ensure that there are still hire cars available at short notice.
