Last Minute Holidays Ibiza - Spanish Islands Spain

It goes without saying that the best place to seek out late deals and last-minute holidays to Ibiza is on the internet. With the ever-growing success of no-frills airlines, who do not issue paper tickets or waste your money on unappetising airline meals, the internet offers a quick and easy booking procedure with none of the queues you'd find at high street travel agencies.

By now the major players in the no-frills phenomenon are well known, and some of them offer cheap and direct flights to Ibiza during the high season. Others fly direct to Mallorca or mainland Spain, so jumping on a short connecting flight to Ibiza remains hassle-free. Investigate as many options as possible; it's easy to get carried away with a surprisingly cheap flight offer, when you might in fact come across something even cheaper and more convenient if you look around. Check out smaller and more obscure airlines.

If you are planning to profit from the traditional last-minute flurry of cheap offers, it is worth keeping an eye on travel agents' adverts as the summer approaches. If Ibiza gets virtually packed out - as can happen in the height of the high season - flight companies and hoteliers will not be quite so desperate to slash their prices. If this seems to be the case, it could be worth your while to put your money on the table while there are still flights and rooms available.

When it comes to accommodation, you may well have the best luck with larger resorts and hotels with long-established links to travel agencies and package tour operators. You are unlikely to get a great deal on a quaint, independent little finca (farmhouse) unless you have property-owning contacts on the island. There are, however, travel companies that specialise in villas and self-catering apartments in Ibiza, and a quiet season could bring you an amazing last-minute deal.

With any late holiday deal, you should take all necessary precautions when booking to ensure that your bargain holiday is just that.

On the practical side of things, there is no point in booking a last-minute holiday if you don't have a valid passport. Check that you have your driving license with you if you intend to hire a car, and where possible organise car hire in advance of your holiday. If you visit Ibiza in the height of a very busy season, you could find that most of the hire cars - and certainly the cheapest ones - have already been taken.
