Cheap Hotels in Ibiza - Spanish Holiday Islands

Holidaying in Ibiza can be expensive, especially if the main purpose of the visit is to go see as many of the island's clubs and bars as possible. Any saving you can make is a bonus, and there are plenty of cheap hotels in Ibiza that will help cut the overall cost of your stay. The cheaper hotels on Ibiza are generally referred to as pensiones or casas de huespedes (pensions/ guesthouses), and anything called a hostal tends to be pretty cheap, too (see page on hostels in Ibiza).

It is no surprise that the majority of Ibiza's cheap hotels are located in the main party centres of Ibiza Town (Eivissa) and San Antonio. Staying in these areas, noisy and touristy as they may be, is definitely the best option if you are on a budget, since this largely eliminates the need for taxis and public transport. Accommodation in Ibiza tends nonetheless to be slightly more pricey than at other Spanish resorts, but decent enough two-person rooms are available for around 35 euros. The key is to book as early as possible, remembering that the most expensive period will be from May until September (particularly the high season of July and August).

Beginning with the Ibiza Town area, the Hotel Lux Isla at Talamanca beach (Carrer Josep Pla 1; 971 313 469) is small but modern and well appointed, with its own bar and some sea views. Hostal Parque in Ibiza's New Town (Placa des Parc 4; 971 301 358) is very pleasant and reasonable indeed, and has the added benefit of being open all year. A little further out is Hostal Mar Blau on Puig des Molins (971 301 284), which looks over Figueretes beach and has a bar, roof terrace and simple rooms with basic cooking facilities.

Cheap hotels in San Antonio include Hostal Flores (Carrer de Rossell 26; 971 341 129), which has reasonably sized en-suite rooms and its own bar, and Habitaciones Serra (Carrer de Rossell 13; 971 341 326), which is a family-run guesthouse in a relatively quiet setting, offering simple rooms at affordable prices.

In Santa Eularia, Ca's Catala (Carrer del Sol; 971 331 006), with its own pool and sun terrace, is a hotel with a British proprietor and is very handy for local amenities and the beach. In the south of Ibiza, Hostel Cala Moli (just south of Cala Moli; 971 806 002) is a deservedly popular hotel, well decorated throughout, and with sea views from all rooms. The hotel has its own pool and restaurant.
