All honeymoon vacations to Hawaii have a number of features in common with each other. Floral Leis, the sound of the great Pacific Ocean, the sweet smell of the tropical landscapes and the soft sand of some of the worlds finest beaches - these are all just some of the ingredients that combine together to form a truly unique honeymoon.
Vacations seldom come this good! With over five islands to visit and explore we strongly recommend that couples do a bit of inter-island traveling, spending three days here and then four days there.
Newly weds on a their honeymoon vacation in Hawaii do not have to worry about where they are going to stay as the isles are riddled with resorts, hotels and other forms of rental accommodation. So even though it's highly unlikely that sleep will be very high on your list of things to do, we have put together a few names of places that provide that ideal romantic setting and that are included in many packages.
Honeymoon Package Resorts and Hotels
Oahu:
Top on our list for the island of Oahu is the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki. Waikiki is constantly a burst with activity, and the energy and passion that is typical of honeymooners is emulated in the area's surroundings. The Hyatt's first class spa, Ná Hóola, is a great place to relax - why not even take an invigorating Jacuzzi together! Another firm favourite is the Halekulani (808-923-2311). The name (which translates to "house befitting heaven") says it all. Five star culinary excellence and unparalleled service has seen this hotel become a member of the "Leading Hotels of the World." Congratulations you just found that fairy tale honeymoon!
Maui:
The charismatic island of Maui has long attracted the young at heart and is a popular destination for couples. After you have touched down at the island's airport we strongly suggest you make the Four Seasons the setting for your vacation like the many newly weds before you. Featuring in the widely known Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, the Seasons is the epitome of luxury, with its palace like architecture, up market dinning experiences, panoramic sea views and generously fitted rooms.
The Hotel Hana (808-248-8211) is another one of Maui's romantic hideaways, located much further away on the far side of the island, near the settlement of Hana. The resort's bungalow styled accommodation has proven to be a hit amongst honeymooners and romancing couples alike. Enjoy the scenic views from your own private balcony and then walk down and take a dip in your private spa tub.
Big Island:
New couples are strongly directed to the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, which is ideally situated only a short drive away from the airport. As soon as you and your partner walk through the doors you will be greeted with a smile and a floral lie, welcoming you to the Hawaiian Islands. The Mauna Lani is also known for its culinary brilliance. Couples can enjoy a mouth watering romantic dinner at the hotel's signature restaurant, the Canoe House. A honeymoon is all about "doing things together" so why not spend some quality time together learning the hula, trying a spot of painting or even trying your hand at lei making! After all that painting and hip shaking, we suggest trying out the onsite spa's lava sauna and then maybe indulging in a lomi-lomi massage.
Kauai:
There are two luxury resorts that are perfect for those stolen romantic moments - the Princeville Resort and the Hyatt Regency. Both offer incomparable affluent settings, and the privacy that new couples so desperately crave. These two resorts also provide the perfect base from which to explore the beauty of this tropical wonderland, and you couldn't find a much more romantic way of doing this than on one of the island's helicopter tours.
Waterfalls, lush valleys and the beaches along the Na Pali coast are just some of the spectacular sites that are on the menu. Come back and then relax by the pool with an island cocktail, or keep the adrenaline flowing and try your hand at one of the many water sports.
Lanai:
If you are thinking of taking your honeymoon vacation on the Hawaiian Isle of Lanai, we have to let you know that this island boasts some of the highest rates in terms of accommodation. Lanai is also home to two of the most prestigious resorts The Lodge at Koele and The Manele Bay Hotel. If you would like to learn more about either of these two resorts, then just click on the names.
