Dinner Cruises On Maui - Recommendations

Looking to capture a romantic moment? The many Maui dinner cruises on offer provide a near perfect setting - a tropical night sky, calm shallow waters and fairy tale ambience. This is not to say the cruises are strictly romance orientated. Maui's dinner cruises are also a great way to round up family members and close friends to share in a night of laughter and merriment, accompanied by good food and entertainment. The entertainment usually takes the shape of a live performer, and in the case of larger vessels, there is even a dance floor.

The Maui Princess is probably the best known of all the evening vessels. This 118 foot yacht departs from the west side of the island and guarantees passenger a smooth ride. A ticket on the Princess dinner cruise entitles you access to an open bar, so once you've made your way onboard don't be shy about heading towards the bar for a refill. Once you have loosened up, you can gracefully make your way to the tables on the top deck. The ship and the crew have to accommodate 100 passengers, so to economize on space the tables are laid out to sit a minimum number of four people. Unfortunately this may disappoint some couples who are looking for a more intimate experience. The trip lasts for just under three hours and passengers are invited to "show their moves" on the dance floor located on the lower deck. For more information please call 808-667-6165.

The Pacific Whale Foundation, better known for its winter marine tours, offers holidaymakers the chance to experience a dinner cruises are run by the Foundation:

The less formal sunset cruise runs over two hours and is accompanied by live musical performances. Passengers have free run of the bar and can order wine, beer, Mai Tais and soft drinks. There is no sit down dinner (in fact there are no tables); instead guests are treated to a bevy of finger-snacks.

Option number two is pretty similar to the cruise outlined above with regard to having live entertainment and an open bar. However, this voyage goes beyond finger foods as passengers find themselves being treated to a delectable 3 course meal. Due to the "sit-down" nature of the cruise, the journey lasts for a whole hour longer.

Our last recommendation is an evening aboard the "Spirit of Lahaina." You and 148 other passengers will embark on a two and a half hour journey along the Kaanapali Shoreline on a high powered catamaran. More of a cocktail cruise than one of Maui's dinner cruises; passengers are treated to buffet meal and open bar. The night takes on a new energy with a live Hula show - definitely one of this cruise's biggest selling points. Telephone 808-946-1000 for bookings and enquiries.
