If you're thinking of hiring a car or moped on Sikinos think again...because you can't! The island only has a couple of made up roads and until recently mules and donkeys were the main means of transport.
There are no car hire firms here and although you can bring a car in by ferry make sure you've got enough petrol because there are no petrol stations on the island either.
A bus service connects the port with the capital of Hora / Kastro on the west coast of the island. Other than that you'll need to rely on a donkey, caique (water taxi) or your own two feet.
