Costa del Sol Golf Holidays - Golfing Package Vacations

Tenerife - Spain - Tavel Tips - Save & DIY - Insurance

The Costa del Sol is probably the best known golf holiday destination in Europe. It can boast an incredible 40 high quality golf courses, all within a 90-minute driving time of one another.

As well as fantastic provision for all things golf, the Costa del Sol also provides every other holiday attraction you could wish for. Marbella, Fuengirola and Benalmadena are all well established resorts, and along with the up-and-coming destination of Puerto Banus, this region provides unlimited nightlife and great hotels.

ite easily book a Costa del Sol golf holiday every year without playing the same course or staying in the same hotel twice!!

For those looking for a more cultural respite from the golf course, the lovely countryside, national parks and the Sierra Nevada mountains are all within a short car journey of the main resorts in the region.

Estepona is another emerging resort in the area. It was previously a fishing village and it offers a quieter option for your holiday base. Despite attracting an increasing number of tourists, Estepona manages to maintain its Spanish roots more successfully than other neighbouring resorts.

There are forty high quality golf courses on the Costa del Sol. Of these forty courses you may already be familiar with the courses at Sotogrande and particularly Valderrama which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup. You may not be aware however of some of the more modern but equally breathtaking courses at La Cala and Almenara which are rapidly gaining the reputation as top championship courses of the future.

La Cala and Almenara are examples of the new vigour for golf in the Costa del Sol. A relative slump hit the area in the mid 90s when it became somewhat a victim of its own success and the courses became over played, over crowded and over priced. These emerging courses combined with a series of new world class hotels means demand can now be more easily met. Prices are also more realistic again as course managers realise that up-and-coming resorts in places like France and Cyprus and the established resorts of the Algarve are ready to snap up customers in an increasingly competitive market.

Other than the four identified above it is very difficult to make mention of any other courses in particular, simply because the standard is so high along this coast. However if pushed, La Quinta in Marbella and the water-laden challenge that awaits you at Miraflores possibly stand out as two of the best.

With all this at arms reach, you won't need a perfect swing to enjoy a perfect break on the Costa del Sol.
