In Paris there are two airports: Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, which is 23km north of Paris, and Orly, which is 14km south of Paris. Charles de Gaulle is abbreviated to Paris CDG or just CDG in the airport codes. It has two terminals (1 and 2), so make sure you know which one you need to get to when you are catching a plane. The Roissyrail train is dedicated to taking passengers direct from central Paris to Charles de Gaulle airport, and the RER also terminates at the airport but stops at all the stops en route.

The Roissyrail takes 30 minutes and costs about €8 one way, but remember to leave some time for the bus that takes you to terminal 1 from the train station. The same bus and train will whisk you into Paris when you arrive, stopping at the Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, St-Michel and Denfert-Rochereau. You can jump on the métro at any of these stations. There is also a bus (Roissybus) that goes from Opéra-Garnier to Charles de Gaulle airport terminals 1 and 2. It costs €8 and takes 45 minutes. A taxi would cost in the region of €36 and take 50 - 60 minutes. After midnight this is your only option for transport to the airport.

Orly airport has two terminals: Sud (international flights) and Ouest (domestic flights). The Orlyval train costs under €9 one way and takes 35 minutes to reach central Paris, following the route of RER line B. The bus (Orlybus) goes to Denfert-Rochereau, where you can get the metro, costs €5.50 and takes 30 minutes. Otherwise, a taxi also takes about 35 minutes and costs around €20.
