Speed ferries are the only company who currently provide ferries to Boulogne from the UK. Boulogne is situated on the French coast to the south west of Calais and is one of the quickest and most convenient ways of crossing the English Channel.
Speed ferries offer a series of 86 metre catamaran vessels which make the crossing over the channel in around 50 minutes. The vessels have a capacity for 200 cars and around 800 passengers.
The catamarans feature spacious lounge areas with comfortable seating and a range of onboard facilities including a cafés, wine bars, shops, sundecks and things to keep the kids amused such as play areas and video arcades. They also offer a 'Premier Class' service featuring reserved seating, a selection of free drinks including tea and coffee, personalized service at your seat and priority parking aboard the vessel.
Sailing routes
Speed Ferries sail from Dover to Boulogne with a crossing time of fifty minutes. They offer a year round service with three sailings per day between Dover and Boulogne from October to March and with five sailings per day from April to September.
Prices for a return ticket for a car with up to six passengers start at around £50.00.

Boulogne, or Boulogne Sur-Mer as it is rightly known, is one of France's biggest fishing ports and has been since Roman times when it was an important trade link between France and Britain. Boulogne also has a fascinating medieval Old Town while the Lower Town and port grew around the thriving fishing business. There is much to see and do here whether you just want to soak up the Gallic atmosphere and enjoy Pastis in one of the charming pavement cafes or have a look at the cannon balls still embedded in the crypt of the Cathedral which still remain from the time Henry VIII captured Boulogne, there is something for everyone to do.
