Ayia Napa is well-known as Cyprus' party capital and a good night's sleep rarely features on visitors' holiday wish-lists. As a result most of Ayia Napa's hotels fall into the utilitarian (rather than luxury) category, catering to a clientele largely made up of 18-30 holidaymakers. However, there are a number of hotel-complexes skirting the town that offer a more up-market ambience.

Ayia Napa boasts more than 20,000 beds, but rooms fill up quickly in the high season so it's essential to book well in advance. Be careful about where you choose to stay and remember that you won't get much rest if you book a hotel in the town centre.
