The location is exotic, exciting, and beautiful. People you had to invite but you don’t really like all that well will make an excuse not to travel that far. And instead of flying off the next morning with a splitting headache, you two lovebirds can sleep in while your guests trundle off to the airport.
Or skip the big, fancy wedding; just elope and honeymoon there instead.
But really, you can arrange a wonderful luxury wedding in a setting you could never duplicate at home, at a reasonable price. If most of your guests are coming from out of town anyway, they can fly to Costa Rica just as easily as to Cleveland. Just give them a long enough lead time that they can get their passports in time to join you for the big event. And when it’s all over, you’ll already be in paradise.
