A vacation rental lets you relax in comfortable, private surroundings. You can use your rental property as a base camp from which to explore the country and participate in all kinds of activities. Or you can just kick back and relax.
Vacation rentals can be economical condos, beach houses, or luxury villas. Features and services vary, as does the minimum length of stay. Your best bet is to decide what part of the country you want to visit and then shop rentals in that area to see what is available at what price.
Rentals are not for everyone. The individuals in your travel party, and any guests you invite over, have to remember that you are visitors in someone else’s home. Most rentals are listed by their owners. Check for rules about children and pets as well as who is responsible for cleaning (many include daily maid service and pool cleaning, for example; but others don’t).
