You can choose among hotels located downtown near museums and stores or in several other neighborhoods, with amenities ranging from luxury to economy to you-be-the-first-to-review-it scary. Many are run by well known chains, but some of the nicest are family-owned inns.
The rate you’ll pay for a room in a San Jose, Costa Rica, hotel varies with the season, as in any resort destination. The most expensive and luxurious options, though, are still much less than you’d pay in a big US city. It’s unlikely you’ll find a room that lists for more than $200 a night, and you can get great accommodations for much, much less.
