Brussels’ Best Museums:
Brussels has more than 70 museums: The Royal Museum of Old Art boasts one of the finest collections of old masters in Europe. Flemish painters from the 15th to the 17th century such as Jérôme Bosch, Pierre-Paul Rubens and Jacob Jordaens feature prominently; as do Dutch artists like Hals and Rembrandt. For something more modish the Royal Museum of Modern Art brings together over 2000 paintings, 1000 sculptures and 2500 drawings from the 19th and 20th century (including works by such big guns as Magritte, Gauguin, Sissy and Ensor). The Royal Conservatory of Music is an attractive building housing more than 5000 instruments. The Museum of Costume and Lace features Belgian lace as well as elaborate textiles and costumes.Communication
