The Kona Coast Resort can be found in the Keahou Bay region of the Big Island nestling on the very borders of the Pacific Ocean and fairways of the Kona Country Club. These surroundings make for some spectacular views!
Also known as Keahou Gardens, this resort is set on an incredible 21 acres of pristine property and houses a number of condominiums that vary between two and three stories in height. The condos themselves are generously spaced and have been delicately decorated with pastel shades and cool cotton. Residents have access to a private bathroom, living area and kitchen. The living area is fitted with a large comfy sofa complete with side and coffee tables and moves through to an open plan kitchen (which seconds as bar area) that houses the condos’ cable TV. Completely self-contained the kitchen is fitted with coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, crockery, cookware, fridge and stove.
Meals can be eaten in a separate area that holds a rectangular glass toped table with four seating places. Alternatively guests can move out on to the veranda and enjoy a dinner while overlooking the lush surroundings of Keahou Bay. Marble is the material of choice used in the graciously sized bathrooms covering the floor, shower and the counters. All the condominiums at the Kona Coast Resort have a store of extra blankets, sheets, and towels and have both a washer and dryer on site.
Stepping out from the Resort
When the hot island sun becomes a little too much guests often find their way down to the pool area which is watched over by the resort’s signature mermaid and dolphin statue. Others take a walk down to the beach which border on calm waters that attract sunbathers; and even the likes of keen sports fisherman and snorkelers. Fitness fanatics can work out at the resort’s fitness centre or alternatively embark on a 3 mile jog on a pre-assigned track. Other amenities include beach volleyball, tennis courts, and for those who have not mustered up the nerve to test themselves on the neighbouring fairways there is small putting green.
If ever you find yourself at a bit of a loss when it comes to things to do we suggest making your way down to the resort’s Activity Centre where you will be able to find out what the week’s prescribed activities are. The Activity Center is also where guests can rent out water sports equipment.
When it comes to dinning, vacationers can opt to eat in or move down to the Sea Shell Point restaurant. If this doesn’t float your boat you can always make use of the BBQ areas scattered throughout the resort.
The resort is also conveniently located close to the Keahou Shopping Center should you need to stock up on groceries.
