The Hilton Waikoloa Village

The Hilton Waikoloa Village can be found comfortably nestled at the foot of Mauna Kea on the Big Island just twenty minutes drive away from the Kona International Airport. Constructed at the onset of the 1980s this is one of larger resorts on the Kohala Coast, and considering all the amenities on offer, it is also one of the cheapest in the area.

The 1,241 guest rooms and suites are distributed amongst three towers. Closest to the Pacific is the Ocean Tower which has the highest concentration of rooms and is home to an “adults only” pool area as well as a remarkable entrance hall that is characterized by entourage of beautiful tropical plants and flowers. On the opposite side you have the Lagoon Tower which is houses the least amount of rooms and the resort’s boutiques and spa. The tower in the centre is known as the Palace Tower. All three towers are cleverly connected by a series of trams and canals – this is undoubtedly one of the Hilton Waikoloa Village’s most distinguishing features.

When it comes to the resort’s restaurants, guests can choose from a formal or casual dining experience. If it’s formal you are after then why not make a reservation at Donatoni’s and sample some of Hawaii’s finest Italian cuisine. For a more laid back experience we strongly suggest guests try the weekly Luau that is the setting for fine entertainment and traditional Hawaiian dishes.

Beyond the Hilton Waikoloa Village

Amid the parrots and artwork you will find numerous concierge desks that guests can turn to incase they lose their way. The desks are also able to accommodate dinner reservations and activity bookings.

Not having its own beach, has meant the resort has invested a lot in its pool area. The area is composed of three separate pools and a lagoon. Waterfalls run into the magnificent Kona Pool, and kids will embrace the waterslide while mum and dad relax in the Jacuzzi. If you are looking to escape the high energy of the Kona pool we recommend making your way to the adults’ only Ocean pool which is serviced by a cocktail bar. The third pool is actually a series of pools that are joined by a river current. For those looking at trying out a few of the local water sports then the Lagoon Beach offers snorkeling and kayaking.

Golf enthusiasts will have the run of a not one, but two 18 hole golf courses. Other amenities found at the Hilton Waikoloa Village include the Kohala Sap, tennis courts, shopping centre and the resort also has a unique program called “Dolphin Quest” which gives people the opportunity to swim with one of this world’s most magnificent creatures.
