NEWCASTLE AIRPORT MAPNewcastle airport is a 15 minute drive from the city centre and for people travelling by car is best reached by following the A1. It's no longer permitted to drop off passengers in front of the terminal forecourt and instead you'll have to head for the aptly named Drop-Off and Pick-Up Car Park directly facing the airport buildings. If you want to spend longer saying your farewells (without breaking the bank) the nearby Short Stay Car Park is the best bet. The Short Stay Car Park is located within the airport complex and it's a short walk to the main entrance. The Short Stay Car Park is ideal for anyone staying up to two days (although there is no maximum period) otherwise it works out cheaper to book into the Long Stay Car Park on the far side of the airport ring road.
The Long Stay Car Park operated by Newcastle airport boasts an impressive security system and is linked to the airport itself by a complimentary 24-hour coach service. For up to three days parking the tariff remains fixed and then rises by £5.00 each day. The transformation of Newcastle airport from a fledgling operation to a credible international airport hasn't gone unnoticed by a number of the UK's major parking providers. Increased competition is great news for the customer as it keeps prices low, so it's worth comparing the rates at the following before you make any firm commitments:
Bellair Parking on Callerton Lane operates a slick service whereby you hand over your car keys at the reception and a member of staff parks for you. Next you hand over your luggage and take a seat in the shuttle bus. On your return your vehicle will be waiting for you. There's no minimum stay and they have 1000 spaces.
Callerton Parking is minutes from the airport and operates a secure parking area with a capacity of 400 cars. Courtesy buses operate round the clock and there's a minimum stay of three days.
Park and Fly is located just across the airport perimeter road and offers 900 spaces. From the car park it's a three minute ride on the shuttle bus to the airport (shuttles leave every 10 minutes). The minimum stay is again three days.
At all car parks there's the possibility of being asked to leave your keys during the peak season, just in case your car has to be moved.
