ABERDEEN AIRPORT MAPAberdeen airport is located seven miles north west of the city centre, just off the A96. Driving is arguably the easiest way to get to the airport and there are plenty of parking spaces when you arrive. Passengers travelling by train will need to head for Dyce station and then flag down a cab. Aberdeen airport's ample parking provision means that you are more than likely to find a slot, but by booking in advance you'll make worthwhile savings.
Aberdeen airport's approved short stay car park is operated by NCP and ideally situated just a couple of minutes walk form the main terminal entrance. It's primarily targeted at people wanting to drop-off friends and family or greet someone on an inbound aircraft. However, convenience comes at a price, and if you're staying for more than a day it will work out cheaper to book into one of the long stay car parks. Business travellers may want to take advantage of the airport's Fast Track parking area, where (for a financial premium) you can expect: extra wide parking bays close to the check-in facilities and dedicated entrances and exits.
If you're staying for more than 24 hours you'll find a wide choice of long stay parking options, with a suitably wide range of daily charges. Shopping around for the best deal won't appeal to everyone, but if you consider that prices vary by as much as 50% - then it really begins to make sense. All of Aberdeen airport's long stay car parks involve a short trip on a shuttle bus to reach the terminals, but it shouldn't take more than five minutes. Options include the following:
Long Stay Parking : The airport's official car park is operated by one of the biggest names in the business: NCP. Consequently their service is slick and well polished.
Airpark : At a distance of two miles from the airport it's the furthest flung of our top three. and consequently the cheapest. They are hot on security, insured against vehicle damage and have regular shuttle buses. On the downside there are only 250 spaces.
Flightpath : Secure, competitive and well-connected to the airport.
Note: All of Aberdeen's airport car parks are highly security conscious, but for peace of mind it's worth checking what precautions they take: foot patrols, CCTV surveillance, secure fencing and insurance cover should all be standard.
