Gatwick Airport

In recent years the number of hotels serving Gatwick Airport has increased exponentially to meet the growing demand for air travel. As a result Gatwick has been able to shed its image as a predominantly 'charter airport' and attract more business and scheduled air traffic. Gatwick is owned by BAA who is currently investing more than £100 million into the airport's infrastructure and transport links to the capital.

Although Gatwick is relatively close to London, anyone catching an early flight (or arriving late) would do well to consider spending the night in one of the many hotels that serve the airport. A number are located within walking distance of the airport buildings, although most also provide free transit to the terminals. Keep an eye open for hotels offering accommodation/ parking packages (often dubbed 'park and fly'), which can work out substantially cheaper than leaving your vehicle in one of the airport lots. As a final note: it's worth shopping around as Gatwick has a variety of accommodation options and it shouldn't take too long to find something that suits your taste and budget.
